How I Work
I currently offer counselling either face to face or online.
I will help to facilitate and support you in a safe, non-judgemental, confidential and compassionate environment; whatever you decide to bring to counselling it will be at your pace.
I aim to build a working relationship with you, enabling you to feel comfortable exploring and understanding your experiences, thoughts, and emotions and how they can be connected to events in the past or the present. Through this exploration, we can work towards positive change. It may be that you're uncertain of what needs to change or where to begin and that’s okay too.
I offer one-to-one counselling (short term and long term) for individuals aged 18+
I also offer counselling over Zoom.
I can help clients who are experiencing difficulties with; relationship issues, anxiety, stress, depression, bereavement, ADHD and other difficulties. For more information please contact me.
Initial Assessment
I believe that it requires a lot of courage to take the first steps into counselling, whether you're having counselling for the first time or returning after a break.
I offer a free 20-minute initial phone assessment for you to share your concerns and to determine if the therapy I offer and myself as a counsellor are the right fit for you.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions that you may require depends on the nature of what you are experiencing and what you bring to counselling. This is collaboratively agreed upon in the first session and reviewed at regular intervals.
First Session
In our first meeting, I will explain how the counselling process works and develop a working agreement that will inform us both on how we will work together, as well as discuss your expectations of counselling and your goals. There is no obligation to continue counselling after our first meeting.
Confidentiality
I maintain confidentiality regarding my work with you, however, there are a few expectations and they will be discussed in our initial meetings; I discuss aspects of my work with my supervisor which is also a confidential relationship, and where there is a risk of harm to self or others.
I also hold an enhanced DBS and I am fully insured to practice.
